Basic substance in compliance with RCE n°1107/2009

BIO-SALIX is a willow bark extract. In agriculture, willow bark is used as an elicitor of natural plant defense mechanisms, thanks to the polyphenols, phenols and especially the salicylic acid it contains. Salicylic plays an important role in plant protection. It induces the production of stilbenes before the attack of downy mildew and other cryptogamic diseases. The synthesis of resistance proteins during the attack reduces sporulation, and blocks the response to injury from abscisic acid, a stress hormone released by all plants in response to a pest or disease. It induces rapid closure of plant stomata and injured areas. Salicylic acid can also reduce the impact of humidity, still by controlling plant stomata opening.
